We are living in a world of advanced technologies and inventions. As a matter of fact, many human activities have undergone considerable change in the modern world; selling and purchasing are two among them. At present, most people depend on the online shopping method to purchase products. Online shopping is a process of selling and purchasing products with the help of the Internet by using a mobile phone. In this essay, I would like to discuss various advantages and disadvantages of online shopping, as well as my personal experience in connection to the topic.

Let us begin with the advantages of online shopping. The major advantage of online shopping is that it has made the process of selling and purchasing simpler and easier. Moreover, people do not have to physically walk to shops to buy the products they want. Instead, they can select and buy products on various smartphone applications while sitting at their own homes. Furthermore, product varieties that are manufactured anywhere across the world are available when shopping online. Additionally, online shopping websites offer great offers and discounts for all kinds of products. Last but not least, the prices of products are low on e-commerce websites compared to the prices at local stores.

Next, let us move on to the disadvantages of online shopping. First and foremost, online shopping will destroy the existence of local vendors and shops. To cite another one, people often get scammed by online shopping websites. Sometimes, they will not deliver the product itself; sometimes, they dispatch a fake product. To add an important one, people will often have to wait for days to receive the product or to return it. Last but not least, online shopping has made people shopaholics to a dangerous extreme.

I have purchased many products online. Let me share with you one of my experiences with online shopping. Once, I ordered a mobile phone online and paid the amount in advance. However, I did not receive the product even weeks later. I had to contact the customer care department many times to get a refund. However, I have received many of my orders on time without any problems. Therefore, I hold a mixed review of online shopping.

In conclusion, online shopping is one of the new trends of the modern world. As with everything else in the world, it has both advantages and disadvantages. The result always depends on how people use it. As people of the modern age, we have to embrace technologies and innovations. At the same time, we should be careful of the risks and dangers of technology.
